Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the region, producing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, nearly one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after Melbourne saw its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received 598 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for property damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
